Oh I love this movie! Its so surreal. Some scenes in the movie are like taken straight out of dreams. Actually, watching the movie sort of feels like dreaming. This is definitely one of my favorite Michel Gondry films.

from your description it seems to fit the style of 'magical realism' employed in movies such as 'big fish' and 'amelie'. i've heard about this flick... i wanna watch it too!

ummm I'm not sure if you can compare this movie to Amelie and Big fish...But I really like those movies that you've mentioned so maybe you'll like science of sleep too hahaha does that make sense? anyway, what i really want to say is that if you liked eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, there's a big chance you'll like the science of sleep...duh! hahahhaa they're both michel gondry films hahaha i'm babbling again I'll shut up now hehehe
